Chevrolet introduces little air conditioner in its models to cool down heated smartphone

In summers when its too hot and phone starts heating up lying on the seat even though the AC is running at full throttle comforting the passenger but is no good for the phone then you must need to check out the phone cooling provision in latest Chevrolet models.  The car manufacturing company has introduced this new personal cooling system for the smartphone with an air vent with chilling cold air in a small tray lower down the dashboard that cools down your phone instantly and maintains the phone temperature at optimum level which helps in improving the battery life and performance of the device.  As it’s a common sight when the phone efficiency gets lowered when its cooking like pancake in the hot car.

This cool breeze emitter works with the ventilation and air conditioning system of the car.  According to Chevrolet this is the first technology of the industry though similar result could be attained by hanging the smartphone in front of the car’s ac vent but this new facility is quite a better solution.

The phone cooling system will be provided in 2016 models of Malibu, Impala, Cruze, Volt that also have the facility of wireless charging.  This is quite handy for phones users who depend on their phones for playing music and taking calls hands free while driving on roads.  This gives the double benefit of charging and cooling simultaneously.

Chevrolet’s charging system was built in collaboration with the wireless charging firm Powermat.  Currently very limited phones support this type of charging and most smarthphone owners require a back plate or a dongle to utilize it.  The active phone cooling system have been announced with the perfect timing in summers in US with cars getting boiling up and drivers our hesitant to hold the wheel.

Chevy experimented on its vehicles during quite extreme climates to check if the subsystems like cooling phone and charging are working under stress.  When the cars were tested for wireless charging, engineers noticed that in some cases phones stopped charging or switched off because the thermal protection function when the car temperature gets too high.  It is quite frustrating when one is crippled to use the phone due to overheat problem so engineers came up with the idea of phone cooling system to prevent the overheating of the phone.  The system works with AC and helps in lowering the phone temperature.
