Apple TV goes down at fourth place even behind the Fire TV from Amazon

A new TV from Apple maybe is in the pipeline and may help to regain the dropped sales figure.  According to last year sales data the sales of streaming media box got behind of its rival devices and for the very first time behind Amazon.  The once popular media box got the fourth position after it was superseded by others like Roku and search engine Google.

Apple Inc developed Apple TV, which is a media player just like a microconsole for entertainment purpose receiving digital data via different sources and streaming the data to a TV screen for playing.

The streaming boxes are in demand as people prefer to watch internet related entertainment via their TVs.  However, Apple box is still with a three years old model and has been sidelined by the company in its product line.  Most probably the company is going to launch the new version in near future as it unveils the new models of iPhone.

According to the statistics Amazon got the third place and its purchases rose to approximately 16 percent as compared to 13 percent allocation of Apple company.  Roku continued its supremacy in leading the sales figure by enjoying the 34 percent of the market share while Google was in the second position having 23 percent share for its little device named Chormecast which gets plugged into the backside of TV.

In a nutshell these four companies have the control of approximately 86 percent of streaming media boxes and it was also estimated that in 2019 sales of these streaming devices will be around 86 million globally.

Still on a whole the largest seller worldwide is Apple TV as it has sold 25 million devices in its lifetime while in comparison Roku with its leading sales has so far only sold 10 million devices and so far there are no statistics for Google or Amazon as the companies have not released stats for Fire TV or Chromecast.
