Google’s Android watches offer more information by just having a glance on your smartwatch

Google is looking forward to get the information as quickly as possible from the smartwatch.  To materialize the idea, the search engine giant recently announced new features for watch faces using Android and powered by customized Google built software that has been made very specifically to be used by wearables.

The new face of the watch will allow people to see the information immediately for example like weather update, step counter etc when they just glance at the smartwatch and they don’t need to change the screen to get that information.  As stated by Google the new feature will soon be available in near future hopefully.  Moreover it was also revealed that just tapping the face of the watch would change the entire design, give more information and even a specific application can be launched to facilitate the user.

This new step is an indication that Google is catering the requests by users to view the information by their smart watches more conveniently and display is more user friendly.  Last year when the Android wear watches got launched, Google made sure that their face is quite simpler for users to tackle as the idea of wearing computer on the wrist was quite new for them.

Apple takes 92% smartphone profit as per analysis

Collectively android devices maybe leading the smartphone market but Apple is taking home all the profit.  During this year’s first quarter Apple took the 92% share of total income collectively earned by eight different smartphone providers.  The figure increased from 65% for Apple during initial quarter of last year.  The latest figure is of quite significance as globally Apple sells only 20% of the smartphones from all the sellers.  Behind Apple is Samsung at 15% and remaining smartphone vendors either suffer loss or are at breakeven.

The reason behind this phenomenon is that Apple has high prices which helps it to get a large profit chunk while selling little quantity of phones.  The average sale price of iPhone is $624 globally as compared to $185 for other devices.  Another reason for profit increase was high demand of iPhone 6 and 6 plus with big screens.  As compared to previous similar quarter Apple sales were 43 percent higher for iPhones with higher prices.

Another reason for Apple’s success is due to unique product line as compared to Android phones.  Having numerous models Apple sells only one smartphone and that is the iPhone.  However, Android phone sellers offer variety of different phones ranging from cheap to expensive models.  Leaving the two different platforms aside, Apple can ask for more price as its device is different from all the android devices available in the market.

Apple is grabbing the profit share when rival players are struggling hard to make profit and survive.  Samsung has observed turn down in sale as well as market share facing tough competition from iPhone maker and also different Chinese vendors like Huawei and Xiaomi.  The Korean company is expecting seventh profit decline in second quarter.  HTC also revealed recently that it is expecting decline in revenues and even loss.  Equal goes for the Chinese maker Xiaomi who can foresee missing of its target sales.

Apple has now the task to maintain the share as previously iPhone 6 with its big screen attraction helped a lot but still analysts think that the company would keep on dominating the industry profits as Apple’s dominance is quite difficult to overcome.

Google makes new parent firm named Alphabet

Apple improves iPod Touch by iPhone 6 level camera and chip

The improvement brings iPod Touch close to features in iPhone 6.  The new Touch now has an 8-megapixel camera, which has been upgraded from 5-megapixel from the previous version.  The processor is 64 bit same in iPhone enabling faster and better graphics for motion tracking and games.  However, the display is same as of four inch.

The iPod was launched in 2001 and helped Apple gain the market share and created the image of innovator.  But once the most favorite music player is no more in the limelight as users can now easily access music on Apple Watches and smartphones.  iPod sales have declined since 2008 when it sold record units amounting to 54.83 million.  Last year the figure stood at 14.4 million only.  The company now adds the iPod sales in other products like Apple Watch and TV, no more giving its individual sales.
